The Packaging Professional Certificate Program is composed of the following four courses:

Packaging Science Fundamentals

Packaging Science Fundamentals is a course designed to give packaging industry professionals a sound understanding of the science and applications of various packaging materials. The raw materials, manufacturing processes and conversion processes used for high volume packaging materials and components are studied. In addition, the course reviews fundamental concepts of materials science and then applies that to common packaging materials, such as plastics, metals, papers and composites.

Packaging Markets & Applications

Packaging Markets and Applications is a course that provides a comprehensive overview of the packaging industry, market study for the various sectors, and opportunities for the future. We will review packaging products serving the food, medical/pharmaceutical, beverage, household, and personal care sectors, and the packaging requirements for the present and future.

Packaging Machinery & Processes

Packaging Machinery & Processes is a course that will provide a comprehensive overview of leading packaging machinery and line processes, such as extrusion, injection, and blow molding, flexible packaging, thermoforming, bottles, and closures. In addition, participants will be introduced to many of the management functions associated with the design, development, production and use of packaging materials and components.

Green Materials

Green Materials is course that provides a comprehensive review of sustainable packaging solutions, and how it affects various applications.
