Polymer Emulsions & Dispersions

An emulsion is the suspension of tiny solids in a liquid. A polymer emulsion is the suspension of polymers in a liquid. As the liquid evaporates, the suspended polymer solids come closer together until they touch and combine to form larger chains and eventually a film. Example emulsions include vinyl acetate/ethylene (VAE), vinyl acetate homopolymers (PVAc), vinyl acetate copolymers, including styrene acrylics, vinyl acrylics, and pure acrylics. This webinar studies emulsion chemistry, polymerization, categories, and commercial applications.
