The Innovation and New Product Development Certificate Program is designed to build competency in the process of transforming an idea to a commercial product. The program reviews the cradle to grave process of how to efficiently develop new products, and how to effectively take these products to the marketplace. The deliverables from this program are applicable to both small businesses and corporations.

This course examines the strategies, processes and methods used by innovative companies, and the cutting-edge tools and techniques used for new-product development. This course reviews proven business processes, such as the Stage-Gate approach for managing different stages of product development, from idea generation to market testing. Although the primary focus of the course is on physical products, much of the material is also relevant for the design of new services.
Managing Product Development Projects
This course teaches how to drive a new product development project using successful project management concepts (a core team approach to project team organization), development tools, speed techniques, and technology management fundamentals. These proven concepts are easily transferable to any industry involved in introducing new products to the marketplace.
New Venture Creation
This course teaches the practical tools necessary to transform their product idea into a marketed and commercial product. We review the basic steps of this journey including- how to assess the commercial potential for your product through consumer research, how to obtain capital funds to finance your product development, how to protect your idea through patenting, how to best market and advertise your product, and best options for manufacturing and distributing your product to the marketplace.
Leading Teams is a course that provides the knowledge and skills necessary to be an outstanding team or group leader. The course will also provide fundamental tools from the behavioral and social sciences that will improve your ability to analyze organizational dynamics and take robust action.
